Early Childhood Programs
We’re big on little ones! That’s why our Early Child Programs are thoughtfully developed and nurtured to educate the whole child and engage the entire family. Our mission is to provide an unforgettable early learning experience with programs that enrich children’s lives by teaching the values of Reform Judaism. For more than twenty years, our Early Childhood Program has been providing an environment that fosters independence, creative expression, self-esteem, and community awareness. The atmosphere is positive and stimulating, the methods are involving and hands-on, and our children are excited to be here.
The PJ Library Program provides families with children between the ages of 6 months and 8 years of age with high-quality Jewish books, CDs, and reading guides to help enhance a family’s reading experience. This program is funded through the generosity of Temple Tikvah and its Brotherhood, in partnership with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, the philanthropic organization that founded PJ Library. Registration for this program is required to receive books and participate in PJ Library activities. There are a limited number of free subscriptions available. Learn More
Tot Shabbat and Holiday Programs
Tot Shabbat is a brief, lively service filled with songs, stories, and prayer specifically designed to appeal to young children. Our Tot Shabbat services are held every fourth Friday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
Due to popular demand, Tot Shabbat has been added to our Saturday morning programming and includes holiday workshops. These workshops are run by our Early Childhood Education Director, Nuccia Hernan, and are designed to help the very young in our community become familiar with the symbols, songs, stories, and prayers. Children participate with their parents, which helps establish the connection of religion, holidays, and family.
Our workshops are open to children ranging from the ages of 2 to 8 years old and are free of charge. We urge you to invite other young families who also wish to learn and participate in these activities. These activities are also an enjoyable way for grandparents to spend a morning with their grandchildren.
